HOW TO HIKE RYTEN (543m)

The hike to Ryten is a popular hike in Lofoten because of the stunning panoramic views it offers from the summit. From the top of Ryten, you can see the beautiful Kvalvika Beach below, the majestic mountains around, and the vast sea beyond. The trail to Ryten starts from the same point as the Kvalvika Beach hike, making it convenient to combine both hikes if you have the time and energy. The ascent to the summit involves some steep and rocky sections, but the views from the top make it all worthwhile.

Distance: 7 km (out and back)

Elevation Gain: 520 meters

Duration: 2,5 h (out and back)

Difficulty: Easy/Moderate

Starting point: Paid parking for Ryten and Kvalvika in Indresand.

The parking situation for Ryten and Kvalvika has become increasingly challenging in recent years. The small parking spot located at Torsfjorden along the Fv808 road became too small to accommodate the number of cars. As a result, numerous cars are parking along the road at places where it is forbidden, and police have regularly given tickets. There is a paid parking place marked as Parking for Ryten/Kvalvika in Innersand, from where you can start the hike without fearing that you will get fined.
