We primarily offer guided trips in western Lofoten during the winter, and there’s a good reason for it. In the summer, the trails are generally more accessible, so we only offer private trips to take you off the beaten path and away from the crowded mountain tops.
❄️ Winter Hikes: A Whole Different Challenge
Winter is a different story. If you plan to explore the Lofoten mountains during the off-season, you need to be fit, experienced, well-equipped, and aware of the challenging terrain and rapidly changing weather conditions.
🥾 Snowshoeing & Hiking for All Levels
Winter hikes in Lofoten can be tough with limited daylight, quickly shifting weather and potential hazards like icy patches or avalanche-prone areas. That’s why we offer easier snowshoeing and hiking trips around the Reine area, which are perfect for introducing you to Lofoten’s winter terrain. On these trips, you’ll get the chance to experience walking with microspikes or snowshoes on relatively flat ground. It’s the perfect way to ease into the terrain.
🏞️ Feeling Adventurous? Take on Ryten!
If you’re up for a bigger challenge (and the weather cooperates), Ivar will happily guide you to the top of Ryten—a proper mountain adventure you can brag about to your friends and family when you get home!
Visiting Lofoten in winter doesn’t mean you’re stuck near your accommodation or limited to roadside stops. Join us for a safe and unforgettable mountain adventure!
From Lofoten with love,
