Why pre-book your transport in Lofoten

Lofoten is not a place with taxis on every corner. There are only a handful in the whole archipelago, they’re in heavy demand in season, and they generally can’t be reserved months in advance the way you’d expect in a city. An airport pickup at an awkward hour, a group with luggage, or a transfer that has to connect with a ferry are exactly the situations where “we’ll just grab a taxi when we land” tends to fall apart.

So the dependable move is to arrange your transport in advance — and the smartest version of that is to bundle it with sightseeing. Instead of a logistics line item, the transfer becomes part of your trip: a professional local driver and guide gets you where you need to be, and shows you Lofoten along the way. How it works: build your own package of guided tours

What we do is private sightseeing tours, and you build your own package from them — choose how many you’d like and how long, from a single day to a full week. We don’t sell fixed, pre-made packages; everything is custom-made around your dates, where you’re staying and what you want to see.
Here’s the part that quietly solves your logistics: your pickup and drop-off come as part of the tour. A guided tour can start at the airport or ferry, show you Lofoten along the way, and finish at your hotel — or your next one.

Where we can take you

Now — within Nordland county (9-seater van, up to 8 guests)

We operate comfortable 9-seater Toyota Proace vans, so the maximum is 8 passengers. As part of a tour, we can pick you up from and drop you at:

Airports: Leknes, Svolvær, and Evenes (Harstad/Narvik).
Ferry & boat terminals: Moskenes, Stamsund, and Svolvær.
Door to door: your accommodation anywhere in Lofoten, and everywhere in between.

From 2027 — our 16-seater minibus

We’re adding a 16-seater minibus, which runs under a national transport licence. That lets us welcome larger groups and, just as importantly, arrange transfers from outside Nordland county too — for example Tromsø airport or the Harstad speedboat terminal — so we can connect your whole Northern Norway trip, not only the Lofoten leg.

Our full-day private tours — the heart of every package

The full-day private tours are the core of what we do; your package is built around them, with transfers added on as needed. All include door-to-door pickup, a personal wireless headset for every guest, onboard audio in English and Chinese, and a local guide briefed on your day. Prices are per group of up to 8.

These are transfer add-ons to a tour you’ve booked — not sold on their own. Each is a guided drive that takes you from A to B with sightseeing and photo stops along the way, finishing where you need to be (your hotel, the airport or the ferry). Prices are per car (up to 8 guests), not per person — the same whether you travel solo, as a couple or as a group. Add-ons not listed (such as Evenes) are quoted on request.

Frequently asked questions

Can you pick me up from Leknes or Svolvær airport?

Yes — whether it’s a transfer from Svolvær, or from Leknes airport to your hotel, or a pickup at Evenes (Harstad/Narvik), we take you door to door as part of a sightseeing package. From 2027 our 16-seater minibus will also reach Tromsø airport and the Harstad speedboat terminal.

Do you offer transfers from the Moskenes ferry terminal?

Yes — we cover the Moskenes, Stamsund and Svolvær ferry and boat terminals, and can time your pickup around your crossing so you’re not left waiting if the ferry runs late.

Can’t I just take a taxi in Lofoten?

For a quick local hop, sometimes — and we’re happy to point you to Traveller Taxi in the Moskenes/Flakstad area. But Lofoten has very few taxis, they’re in high demand in season, and they generally can’t be booked months ahead. For airport runs, groups with luggage, or anything you want guaranteed, arranging transport in advance with us is far more reliable.

Can I choose how many tours and how long?

Yes — packages are fully custom. You pick how many sightseeing tours you’d like and how long, from a single day to a week, and we build it around your dates and where you’re staying. Book two or more private tours and the planning consultation is free, which is where we help with accommodation and other activities too (we package tours, not accommodation).

Can I book transport on its own, without a tour?

Not on its own — the driving comes as part of a tour you’ve booked, rather than as a standalone ride. If you only need a plain point-to-point lift, a local taxi is the right option, and we’ll gladly point you to one.

How far in advance should I arrange my transport?

As early as you can, especially for summer and the February–March winter peak. Because local transport options are limited, the earlier you confirm with us, the more we can build your pickups and tours neatly around your dates.

How many people can you take?

Up to 8 guests in our 9-seater Toyota Proace vans. From 2027, our 16-seater minibus will take larger groups and open up transfers from outside Nordland county.

How much does a transfer add-on cost?

Add-ons are priced per car (up to 8 guests), not per person, and range from 800 NOK for short hops up to 7,500 NOK for the longest ones — see the table above. They’re added to a tour you’ve booked rather than sold on their own; add-ons not listed are quoted on request.
